Jamb
I want sure admission in Jamb 2023, therefore, I want to take Jamb UTME and Direct Entry (DE) together; Is it possible or I will be disqualified? This is the question I have been getting lately from candidates who are looking for ways to gain admission by all means in 2023.
Someone just sent me a message to justify the reasons he wants to apply for Jamb 2023 UTME and DE together. I have quoted him below:
“What I am saying is to be able to seek admission on both platform 100 and 200 so that at least one must work and if both click I choose but the point is if I obtain UTME now and maybe January I go bk to obtain De form filling it with awaiting a level result hope the computer will not reject it cos of UTME reg before“.
Although Jamb direct entry and UTME are different, yet, they are being run by one examination body.
Direct entry helps you seek admission directly into 200 Level while UTME is used to gain admission into 100 Level. To apply for Jamb direct entry, you should have finished either your OND, ND, NCE or their equivalent certificate.
JAMB SAYS YOU CAN NOT REGISTER FOR UTME AND DIRECT THE SAME YEAR. HOWEVER, YOU CAN UPGRADE TO DIRECT ENTRY IF YOU ALREADY REGISTERED UTME.
Now, you may be wondering, since I have ND certificate from a Polytechnic already, can I sit for normal Jamb and still take Jamb 2023 direct entry? Nope, it is not done that way. You have to take one at a time.
Reasons You Can’t Take DE & Jamb UTME Together
I have made you understand that you cannot take Jamb UTME and direct entry together. The next step I am about to take is explaining the reasons you can’t gain admission through Jamb UTME and direct entry the same year.
Note that Jamb direct entry is different from Jupeb Program. You can gain admission via Jupeb and Jamb UTME examination the same year. You can choose to apply for Jamb Direct Entry with your Jupeb result or simply ignore Jupeb result and apply for Jamb UTME.
See the breakdown of the reasons you can’t take Jamb UTME and direct entry together:
- Jamb allows you to create only one Profile.
- All your details are attached to your Jamb profile.
- You will do Biometric verification and we have a different fingerprint.
- Jamb forbids multiple registrations.
- If Jamb finds similar details, they will check it up to know if it is one person.
- If Jamb eventually finds out that you registered Jamb UTME and still applied for direct entry, they will sanction you for manipulating the system.
- Jamb hates and fights against duplicate registration and admissions processes that are not genuine.
- You will always be caught.
With the points above, Hope I have been able to convince and not to confuse you that you cannot register Jamb UTME and Direct entry together in Jamb 2023? Be warned dear.
Question for You: Do you want to go ahead and register UTME and D.E?
