On the other hand Lakunle a schoolteacher who represents the idealistic and Western-influenced youth detests the notion of bride price altogether. it over mere commodities to be bought and sold. Lakunle’s rejection for Y values like her S question significance of the clash between tradition and modernity as well as the power dynamics between men and women in Yoruba society.
