Lagos State University (LASU) is set to conduct an Indigeneship Verification Exercise for the 2023/2024 Admission Exercise. It targets candidates of Lagos State origin who chose LASU as their first choice in the 2023 UTME and scored a minimum of 195. The registration starts on 20th July and ends on 8th September 2023. The verification process doesn’t guarantee admission but is a prerequisite for consideration for admission.
Lagos State University (LASU) is announcing the commencement of its Indigeneship Verification Exercise for the 2023/2024 academic year. This is an important exercise for prospective students who are indigenes of Lagos State, and who selected LASU as their first choice in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
Eligibility Criteria
This exercise is specifically designed for candidates of Lagos State origin who chose LASU as their first choice institution during the 2023 UTME. To be eligible, candidates must have achieved a minimum score of 195 in the UTME.
Important Dates
Candidates should mark their calendars with the following important dates:
- Online Registration Commences: Thursday, 20th July, 2023
- Online Registration Closes: Friday, 8th September 2023
Please note that participation in the Indigeneship Verification Exercise does not serve as proof of admission into LASU.

General Information
Only candidates of Lagos State origin are eligible for the screening exercise. These candidates must be cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) before they can be considered for admission.
The verification interview will take place at the following locations:
- Ikeja Division: First Floor, L & H Building, Faculty of Arts
- Badagry Division: New TETFund Building, Faculty of Education
- Ikorodu Division: Law Clinic, Faculty of Law
- Lagos Division: International Business Class, MBA Building
- Epe Division: School of Transport
Previous applicants from the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions who have not been offered admission will need to revalidate their indigeneship clearance certificates online at LASU’s official website, which will require a payment.
In addition, all Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin must participate in this Indigeneship Verification Exercise to be considered for admission.
