General Entry Requirements for EKSU Part-Time Degree Admissions
Criteria for 3-Year Programmes
- Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum classification of lower credit in a pertinent field.
- HND with a pass grade coupled with a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in a related discipline.
- A first degree from a university with at least a pass in a relevant discipline.
Criteria for 4-Year Programmes
- National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of lower credit in a relevant field.
Criteria for 5-Year Programmes
- O’level certification with at least 5 credits in pertinent subjects, acquired in no more than two sittings.

Business and Management Courses
- Courses Include: B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Finance, B.Sc. Business Administration, B.Sc. Actuarial Science, B.Sc. Insurance, B.Sc. Cooperative Economics and Management, B.Sc. Marketing, B.Sc. Industrial Relations and Personnel Management
- Requirements: Five O’level credit passes in WAEC/SSCE/GCE/NABTEB including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two additional subjects like Geography, Government, Principles of Account, Commerce, History, Business Studies, Tourism, Civic Education, Yoruba, Hospitality Management, or Computer Studies.
Social Sciences
- B.Sc. Entrepreneurial Studies: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, and two other relevant subjects.
- B.Sc. Economics: Five O’level credit passes including Mathematics, Economics, English Language, and two additional subjects, one of which must be a Social Science subject.
- B.Sc. Sociology: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any two Social Science subjects.
- B.Sc. Psychology and Behavioural Studies: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, and two other relevant subjects, one of which must be a Social Science subject.
- B.Sc. Geography and Planning Science: Five O’level credit passes including Mathematics, English Language, Geography, and two additional subjects, one of which must be a Social Science subject.
- B.Sc. Political Science: Five O’level credit passes including Mathematics, English Language, Government, and two other relevant subjects, one of which must be a Social Science subject.
Arts and Humanities
- B.A. History and International Studies: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, History/Government, and three additional subjects, one of which must be an Arts subject.
- B.A. French: Five O’level credit passes including English Language and any four other subjects.
- B.A. Philosophy: Five O’level credit passes including English Language and four additional subjects, with at least a pass in Mathematics.
- B.A. English and Literary Studies: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Literature in English, and three other relevant subjects.
- B.A. Religious Studies: Five O’level credit passes including English Language and any four other subjects.
Science and Technology
- B.Sc. Mathematics: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Agricultural Science.
- B.Sc. Statistics: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and two additional subjects from Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Government, and Civic Education.
- B.Sc. Environmental Management: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and two other subjects, one of which must be from Social/Management Science.
- B.Sc. Tourism and Hospitality Management: Five O’level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects, two of which must be from the Faculties of Science, Management, and Social Sciences.
Four-Year Programmes Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the O’level requirements specified above for the chosen course. Additional qualifications include:
- A National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- OR two GCE/A-level passes in relevant subjects
- OR a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
